2026 TRAVEL RESTRICTIONS FOR PERMITTED OVERSIZE AND OVERWEIGHT MOVEMENTS 

North Dakota Highway Patrol/Motor Carrier Operations Oversize/Overweight Permit Office (6-2026)

  1. Permitted movements not exceeding 16 feet in width may travel on any day, ½ hour before sunrise to ½ hour after sunset.
  2. Permitted movements that are over-height and/or over-length only, may travel on any day, ½ hour before sunrise to ½ hour after sunset. 
  3. Permitted movements that are twelve feet in width or less, one hundred twenty feet long or less or overweight only may travel on any day or night with proper lighting.

Labor DaySeptember 7, 2026Permitted movements exceeding 16 feet in width may not travel from noon on September 5 until sunrise on September 8.
Veterans DayNovember 11, 2026Permitted vehicles and load movements are allowed to travel as stipulated.
